The "holiday weekend" of the Porsche Sports Cup Germany in Misano, Italy lies behind Christoph Krombach. The second race weekend of the popular Porsche platform took place at the Adriatic coast. As a special highlight, the Porsche Sprint GT drove an additional race in the dark on Saturday evening.
Christoph Krombach competed in three half-hour sprint runs and the Porsche Endurance Challenge race over 100 minutes in the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport MR of the KÜS Team Bernhard. In the long-distance race, he shared the Cayman with Bernhard junior driver Daniel Gregor, who is competing in the ADAC GT4 Germany this year.
On Sunday afternoon, the duo was able to win class 1b in the long-distance race, in which the GT4 vehicles start without an RS package. After their closest pursuer had to be disqualified after the race, the founder of ck-modelcars and the young driver had a one-lap lead over the following vehicle. For Krombach and Gregor it is the second win of the season in the Porsche Endurance Challenge. Already in Hockenheim they managed to win the class in a wild race.
Thus, the two KÜS Team Bernhard pilots already have a comfortable lead in the championship after the second race. The closest pursuer is already 16 points behind the well-rehearsed duo after two out of six events. The two are also ahead in the overall standings.
In the three Sprint GT-races, which Krombach contested as a soloist, the modelcar entrepreneur was also able to celebrate a podium finish. On Sunday afternoon, the man from Hessen drove to third position. In the first race on Saturday he finished fourth before retiring on the starting lap of the night race on Saturday evening. In the championship, he is fourth after five of 13 races.
It continues with the Porsche Sports Cup Germany on July 22nd and 23rd. After the guest performance on the Adriatic coast, there is another scenic highlight, because the event package stops at the picturesque Red Bull Ring in Styria.
A special feature of the involvement in the Porsche Sports Cup Germany: A video team accompanies Christoph Krombach and Daniel Gregor throughout the season. In a series on YouTube, fans have the opportunity to follow what's going on on and off the track.
