Before the season, many thought the change from Alpine to Aston Martin was the wrong move, but the two-time World Champion's season opener speaks for itself.
With over 360 starts, Fernando Alonso has competed in more Grands Prix than any other driver. But even at the age of 41, Alonso not only keeps up with the top drivers, he also regularly beats them.
When the season started at the Bahrain International Circuit in early March, there was much talk about the new balance of power. But hardly anyone would have expected Fernando Alonso to end up on the podium together with the two Red Bull Racing drivers. And especially not that this result was not a happy coincidence of a chaotic course of the race, but the reward for a strong performance.
And anyone who, after the start of the season, still thought that this success was a flash in the pan, was taught a lesson. Because Alonso also finished third on the podium at the next Grands Prix in Saudi Arabia, Australia and Miami with strong performances in qualifying and in the races.
This phenomenal start of the season was the reason for the Spanish driver being on position three in the championship chart after just five races, even ahead of the pilotes from Ferrari and Mercedes.
To celebrate Fernando Alonso's unique and unexpected start to the season at Aston Martin Racing, Bell has launched the Spaniard's helmet in scale 1:2. The helmet has a simple yellow and blue design, based on the colors of Alonso's home region of Asturias, with the Spanish flag subtly incorporated. The helmet is strongly reminiscent of the years of his two world championships in 2005 and 2006 in the Mild Seven Renault, which was also yellow and blue at the time. The model was manufactured in the usual high quality and is a detailed replica of the original with an openable visor.
The Aston Martin Racing AMR23 will also be available as a model to match the helmet at the end of the year.
