In yesterday's blog article of the team from ck-modelcars.de, we hosted a VW 1303 Beetle from 1973 in time for Throwback Thursday. For the weekend, we want to stay with the rear-engine-concept, but make a timeskip through almost five decades of automotive mobility: Minichamps delivered the modelcars of the convertible Porsche 911 Turbo S 2020 in scale 1:18. The miniatures, built from diecast, appear in dolomit silver metallic under item number 155069082 as well as in enzian blue metallic under 155069081. They are characterized by a perfect finish of the surface, the paintwork and the details on the front bumper and the ventilation grid at the rear and also shine with a fine, detailed interior. The little Porsches are on wheels in Carrera Exclusive Design. Which color do you choose?

At the beginning of March 2020, the sports car manufacturer Porsche presented the new generation of the 911 Turbo S and announced the top model as stronger, more dynamic and more comfortable than ever. The sports car, based on the 992 series came immediately as a coupe and convertible and started with a new 3.8 liter six-cylinder. Porsche puts its output at 478 kW / 650 hp. Supported by two VGT chargers, that is 51 kW / 70 hp more than its predecessor. The maximum torque now reaches 800 Newton meters (Nm) and thus 50 Nm more than the 991. It can be taken for granted that Minichamps has perfectly transferred the shape and appearance of the new Porsche 911 Turbo S convertible to the scale 1:18. It is not an evolution of the Type 991, because the 911 Turbo S of the 992 series has grown significantly both as a coupe and as a convertible.

At the front axle, the body is 45 millimeters wider on the road (1,840 millimeters), the total width over the rear axle is now 1,900 millimeters (plus 20 millimeters), so a full two centimeters more! The track has increased by 42 millimeters on the front axle and by ten millimeters on the rear axle. The larger rear wing is designed for even more downforce. These are changes that Minichamps naturally also had to take into account when developing diecast modelcars. The new front section with widened air inlet openings is typical of the Turbo with double front lights and standard LED matrix headlights. The slim waist of the Porsche 911 Turbo S emphasizes the powerfully modeled rear fenders with integrated air inlets. Turbo-typical square twin tailpipes in black high-gloss round off the new rear view. Well done!
