French thursday: News from Norev

back to blog overview

It's worth taking a look at the latest deliveries from Vaulx-en-Vaulin: Mercedes-Benz Cabriolets and BMW M1 at its best in 1:18 scale

Now it is time for the lovers of cars from Stuttgart: Norev delivered many interesting miniatures last thursday, including some Mercedes-Benz of old and new role models. A very special Eycatcher is the Roadster with the internal series designation W 121 II, on sale known as the 190 SL. In a beautiful blue tone, a 1:18 model car reaches the collectors with many details and the sympathetic appearance of the original model. That should hit the heart of the MB-Fans for sure. A convertible version of the A 124 series, so the open form of the W 124 sedan, already appeared in the same size. Friends of the 1:43 format will enjoy the miniatures of the brand-new W 907 Sprinter van and the CLS C 257 2018. But there is also a reunion with the fantastic BMW M1 from 1980.

This BMW M1, the first real supercar from the house of Bavaria, was created for motor sports and could not really establish itself after a rule change. But as a sports tool in the Procar series, with a cup around the Formula 1 races in 1979 and 1980, the M1 wrotes motorsport history. The street version has already appeared often in scale 1:18 from Norev - now there comes a dark blue model. This shows once again how grandiose the miniatures of Norev are processed: The appearance of the body lines matches perfectly with the prototype. The opening driver and front passenger doors are giving a good insight into the contemporary barren interior. The service flap in the front works and the huge tailgate conceales the trunk and the six-cylinder mid-engine, coppied from the prototype with 204 kW / 277 hp and 3.5 liters.

Strong details and clear lines

This model with the article number 183224 - that was already taken from earlier blogs - is clearly one of our favorites, because its shape is so clearly drawn. What we also appreciate on the Mercedes-Benz 190 E or on the predecessor of the E-Class Cabriolet A 124: Norev brings a version in violet metallic under the item number 183567 to the open four-seater, but we rather think it is more pearly gray than bornit 481. The details of the 300 CE-24, also blessed with many features, are outstanding; The very detailed and multi-colored engine is the highlight of the model. What also applies to the slightly more rounded model cars of the previously mentioned 190 SL (183400). Both miniatures have removable soft tops and as usual from Norev, out of diecast.
