Daniel Gregor celebrates successful debut in the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Germany

back to blog overview

Daniel Gregor has started successfully with place three in the rookie-ranking in his debut season in the most competitive brand's cup of Germany. The 19 year old piloted a 992 GT3, used by our long-term partner Team 75 Motorsport.

Also in the motorsport season 2025, ck-modelcars will continue to support racing legend Timo Bernhard's racing team. Team 75 Motorsport will once again compete in the prestigious Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Germany this year, as it did recently. But that's not all: A familiar face will be behind the wheel: Christoph Krombach, together with Daniel Gregor, has already celebrated numerous successes in racing series such as the Porsche Sports Cup Germany and the GTC Race and is now even prouder to continue supporting him in his next career step. This has now brought him to his first race weekend in Imola.

With a total of 32 vehicles, the brand's cup is considered one of the strongest in Europe and offers Daniel the challenge of competing against the best of the best behind the wheel of the iconic Porsche Cup cars.

The weekend, however, got off to a slow start: Daniel had little luck in the first qualifying session early Saturday morning and didn't hit the right time window to get the best possible performance from his car. He started the race from 19th place on the grid and worked his way up several places. After the checkered flag, Daniel was delighted to secure a strong third place in the rookie rankings on his debut.

"Third place in the rookies, my first podium in the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Germany. It's obviously a great feeling to make it onto the podium in the first race. I think that shows potential for improvement," said a happy Daniel Gregor, summing up his racing debut.

Race day two again started off mixed for the Heidelberg native: Starting 23rd meant another difficult race from the back of the field. But in the race, Daniel once again showed his talent. Right from the start, he gained several places and was able to work his way through the field. However, his comeback came to an abrupt end when Daniel crashed due to a technical defect and was forced to retire from the race.

"It was a good race overall, the pace was very good. I was able to gain several positions. Unfortunately, I then had the accident due to technical problems. That's a real bummer, of course, but as a team, we win and lose together. We're moving on, and we'll be attacking again in Spa," said a dismayed Daniel Gregor after the race.

There's not much time to breathe, however, as the second race weekend is already upon us, from May 9th to 11th: Then it's off to the Ardennes rollercoaster at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps.
