Werk 83 revives a classic bull that was used as a safety car at the 1982 Monaco GP in formula 1

back to blog overview

Lamborghini Countach as formula 1 safety car in scale 1:43

Werk83 is the name of the new modelcar label that brings this classic car into the collection of the modelcar enthusiasts exclusively for ck-modelcars. The label Werk83 presents itself with its fair price-performance ratio and the good quality of the models. This is also the case with the two safety cars with the bull on the bonnet. In formula 1, it is safety cars that ensure the safety of the field in dangerous situations. At the Monaco Grand Prix 1982, the Lamborghini Countach, which Werk83 has replicated here, was entrusted with this task. The model of the Countach, the origin of the name of which is still unclear, is made of diecast and available in the colors white and yellow on a scale of 1:43.

From the point of view of many experts, the Lamborghini Countach is the one who has shaped the brand Lamborghini most sustainably to this day. The two-door mid-engined sports car, of which just 2,000 series vehicles were built between 1974 and 1990, followed its model, the Miura, which made the then young company Lamborghini famous. The Countach, originally only planned as a design study, was presented at the Geneva Motor Show in 1971. The positive response from visitors was so great that the Countach went into series production as early as 1973 and was first delivered to a customer in 1974.

All versions of the Countach are equipped with a twelve-cylinder V-engine, which was further developed over the course of the production years from 375 hp at the beginning to 455 hp later. Unlike its predecessor, the Miura, the Countach's engine was installed alongside the direction of travel instead of across. Another eye-catching detail of the Countach are the scissor doors or wing doors used for the first time in a series production. In August 2021, Lamborghini presented a new model of the Countach. The model is based on the drive plant of the Sian and is limited to a number of 112 pieces.
