BMW had the fastest car in the field with the Z4, but suffered just as much from technical problems as the Mercedes SLS teams. Porsche's spearhead Manthey Racing lost all chances in various accidents. The N.Technology P4/5, built on a Ferrari chassis, was the first hybrid car in the world to finish a 24-hour race in 1960s retro design. Some of the fans had been there since the weekend before and once again turned the Hocheifel into the largest camping site in the world. And apart from the actual 24 hours, the 235,000 spectators were offered much more: Fan festival, drift challenge, fireworks, supporting races and show programme.
