On December 2nd, 1984, the Sandown 1000 kilometers was held at the 3.903-kilometer Sandown International Motor Racing Circuit in Australia. The weather was warm and dry when at 11:30 am local time 29 cars in front of about 8,000 spectators opened the hunt for the trophy. The race counted as the 11th run of the then FIA World Endurance Championship WEC, the sports car world championship 1984. With an average speed of 153.379 kilometers per hour and a time of 1:31,600 minutes, Stefan Bellof raced in the Rothmans Porsche 956 K with the chassis No. 009 and the starting number 2 the Australian course and thus secured the pole position. With 1:34,400 minutes and a top speed of 148.830 km/h, the man from Gießen should also drive the fastest lap in the race, which he finished as the winner.

It was produced from January to March 1990 and is limited to 600 units. Its 2,5 liter four-cylinder inline engine developed 175 kW / 238 hp.
