Christoph Krombach was overjoyed, because no one else in the model car industry swept up more awards. The awards ceremony took place at the PS.SPEICHER museum in Einbeck, Lower Saxony, Germany, and many knowledgeable enthusiasts eagerly awaited the results.
In the "Collectibles: 1:18 Current" category, the Porsche 911 GT3 R, driven by Tim Heinemann in the striking "From Sim to DTM" livery, took first place. Produced by Ixo, the model car is particularly noteworthy for its meticulous attention to detail. It was also awarded "Supermodel of the Year," the most coveted title in the competition held by the trade magazine MODELL FAHRZEUG.
Also the model in scale 1:43 from Ixo, was another winner. This replica of the DTM car triumphed in the "Collectibles: Mass Production Current" category. Thus, Tim Heinemann's model cars swept up every possible award.
Furthermore, the WERK83 label was once again very successful. In the "Category M Various Scales," a Le Mans classic prevailed: the Mazda 787B. The striking orange and green design is showcased to perfection in this special 1:12 scale. WERK83's success was rounded off with first place in Category J (Collectible 1:18 Classic). The BMW 325i Coupe E36 from the 1993 DTM season impressed, not least thanks to its iconic Jägermeister livery.
"I am so proud of these awards," said Christoph Krombach. "The winning models are a wonderful showcase for the work of ck-modelcars. On the one hand, we work closely with motorsport professionals to bring exclusive models to market – like with Tim Heinemann. On the other hand, with WERK83, we strive to revive the stories of classic cars."
All winning models in the readers' choice for the "Model Car of the Year" continue to be available in the ck-modelcars shop.
