The Swiss initiative "Iron Dames – Women Driven by Dreams" supports women in sports where women and men compete on equal terms. Examples of this include equestrian sports and motorsport, for which the Iron Dames racing team was founded specifically in 2018.
The promotion of women in racing, and especially the Iron Dames, have gained numerous fans and followers over the years, which is not least due to the striking pink design of the cars and team uniforms.
As part of their commitment to the World Endurance Championship, the team of women drivers consisting of Sarah Bovy, Michelle Gatting, and Rahel Frey competed in the GTE Am-class at the 2023 24 Hours of Le Mans with a Porsche 911 RSR. Although the trio of women drove a nearly flawless race, they were forced to step back due to brake problems. In the end, they finished fourth in the GTE Am-class, and the Pink Dames narrowly missed out on a podium finish.
Despite everything, the Iron Dames still celebrated a historic success with their pink RSR in the 2023 season. As the only all-women team to date, they secured a class victory at the FIA ??WEC finale in Bahrain, thus entering the motorsport history books. With this memorable victory, the Iron Dames also brought to a close the era of GTE cars, which were used for the last time at that race in Bahrain.
A high-quality model of the pink Porsche 911 RSR with starting number 85, in the version of the 2023 24 Hours of Le Mans, is available in scale 1:18 from Ixo. It features the highest level of detail and a true-to-original cockpit.
