The team Rosberg from Neustadt an der Weinstrasse is one of the most traditional teams in DTM history. At the end of the 2022 season, the team, which was founded by racing legend Keke Rosberg in 1994, will be celebrating 24 years of DTM. The news that the touring car series will not be competing in 2023 was all the more surprising. However, a return is not out of the question, according to the team with traditional history. In addition to Nico Müller's vehicle used in the 2021 season, Nico Müller's vehicle, with which he won the second race in Portimao in the 2022 season, and Dev Gore's vehicle from the 2022 DTM season can now also be purchased from the label Ixo. The models are manufactured in the usual high quality from Ixo and record the participation of the Rosberg team in what is currently their last season on a scale of 1:43.
In addition to Team Rosberg, a total of 6 Evo versions of the Audi R8 LMS GT3 were used in the 2022 season with the two vehicles from Abt Sportsline and the two vehicles used by Attempto Racing. The Swiss Audi works driver Nico Müller and the American Dev Gore started as drivers for Rosberg. Nico Müller had already started his DTM career at Rosberg in 2014 and 2015. In 2021 he returned after five years at Abt Sportsline. On the credit side of his DTM career are 136 races from which he emerged with 10 victories, 32 podium places and six pole positions. 2022 was a year of double workload for Nico Müller, because in addition to the DTM, the Swiss also competed in the WEC Endurance Championship with VectorSport in the LMP2 class. This should serve to prepare him for the LMDh-project, which is planned at Audi for 2023. His teammate Dev Gore is still considered more of a rookie in 2022 in his second DTM season and his third season in GT3 racing. While Nico Müller was given a chance to win the title, for Gore it was more about getting consistency in the DTM environment he had just gotten to know. The 2022 season should not be an easy one for the Rosberg team. Overall, in Neustadt an der Weinstraße they celebrated three driver championships and two team titles between 2017 and 2020 and wanted to continue this trend. Rosberg used the winter of 2021/2022 and tested more extensively than any other team in order to catch up with the competition from the 2021 season. With Portimao, Imola and the Lausitzring, the team tested with both drivers on all tracks that were on the calendar for the first half of the 2022 season, with the exception of the Norisring, which is not available as a permanent race track. The focus of the tests was primarily on improving the pace in qualifying. At the end of the season, the hard work beforehand paid off and with a fifth place finish for the team, a significant improvement compared to the 2021 season was in the books.
Rosberg's vehicle is an Audi R8 LMS GT3 evo II. The vehicle was recently released for the 2022 season. After Audi had already released the Evo I package in 2018, they have now provided another update. For a price increase of €30,000, aerodynamics, engine characteristics, traction control, chassis and air conditioning were optimized in the Evo-II-version. As far as the design of the team Rosberg is concerned, the two vehicles from Müller and Gore have almost the same design as in 2021 and are painted in the same basic colors as in the 2021 season with the basic colors red, black and grey, the American's vehicle has gold elements on the rearview mirrors as a distinguishing feature. The previously known sponsors were joined in the 2022 season by the charter broker Augsburg Airways, the online retailer SchweisstechnikNo1.de and the communications company Riedel Communications.
