Christoph Krombach secures early class title in Porsche Endurance Challenge

Christoph Krombach secures early class title in Porsche Endurance Challenge

back to blog overview

Great success for Christoph Krombach at the Porsche Sports Cup in Oschersleben - the KÜS Team Bernhard-pilot secures the title in the class of the Porsche Endurance Challenge.

Christoph Krombach completed the fourth race weekend of the Porsche Sports Cup Germany in the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben. The founder of ck-modelcars completed a total of three races on the race track in the Magdeburg Börde, which is known from the DTM.

Christoph Krombach contested the two half-hour sprint runs of the Porsche Sprint GT and the race of the Porsche Endurance Challenge over 100 minutes in the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport MR of the KÜS Team Bernhard. In the long-distance race, he shared the Cayman with Bernhard junior driver Daniel Gregor, who is also competing in the ADAC GT4 Germany this year and is sixth in the standings after six races.

The Porsche Endurance Challenge again went perfectly for Krombach and Bernhard. The ADAC foundation sport-promotinoal pilot Daniel Gregor achieved the fourth pole position in class 1b on Sunday morning. On the technically demanding course in Saxony-Anhalt, the two drivers converted the good starting position into another class win in the afternoon.

In the fourth round of the season, this is the fourth class win for the perfectly coordinated duo. This means that the modelcar entrepreneur and Daniel Gregor are early champions in the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport MR class. The duo still has a good chance of winning the overall championship, which they continue to lead after the race in the Motorsport Arena.

"Incredible, no one expected that we could win the title after race four in Oschersleben," said Christoph Krombach after winning the title in the Porsche Endurance Challenge. “Our big goal this year was the title in the Endurance Challenge, but being able to claim it after only four races and then lead the overall championship is the icing on the cake. In the two remaining races we are now trying to continue our 100% win rate and hope that we can celebrate the overall championship in Hockenheim in October.”

Krombach was also able to celebrate on the podium after the second round of the Porsche Sprint GT. On Sunday afternoon he finished third in his class. In the first race on Saturday, the pilot from Hesse finished ninth. "After the podium on Sunday, the focus is on collecting maximum points in the remaining four races in order to place in the top 3 in the Sprint GT overall ranking," said the KÜS Team Bernhard driver in conclusion.

The Porsche Sports Cup Germany continues on the first weekend in September. Then the popular Porsche event platform will be a guest at the Nürburgring, where Daniel Gregor recently celebrated second place in the ADAC GT4 Germany.
