A new homologation series of vehicles was approved for the 1976 season, but only the Porsche 934 RSR was based on the new regulations. It was to be expected that this car had an advantage over the older vehicles. But the dominance that the Porsche 934 RSR displayed during the season was impressive. A 934 won nine times in ten races.
At the start of the season in May 1976, the teams proved that the new racing car from Porsche was competitive. At the legendary Eifel race on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife, the Porsche 934 RSR immediately celebrated a quadruple success on its debut. Helmut Kelleners was the dominator of the weekend. After pole position and the fastest race lap, the German also secured victory in the first race of the new season.
The car is particularly noticeable by its design and appearance. The Porsche 934 RSR was a proper eye-catcher in its classic orange Jägermeister-design. The Porsche of the Jägermeister Max Moritz team from the DRM 1976 are only part of the history of Jägermeister Racing, which has now gone on for more than 50 years. The Jägermeister livery first appeared in 1972 - initially with dark green as the main color. But those responsible quickly switched to the well-known orange. Since then, the vehicles used worldwide have made the design a true icon.
The winner car of Helmut Kellner is now available in scale 1:18 by manufacturer Schuco. The model was produced in the well kown high-grade Schuco-quality and replicates the original at best. In addition, the Porsche 934 RSR has a detailed interior, a detailed engine compartment and steerable front wheels. Doors, trunk and hood can be opened.
