10.03.2021World premiere of the Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo: The modelcars

With a virtual world premiere, Porsche presented the Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo to the public. The sports car manufacturer extends with this versatile modelversion the product range of its first fully electric sports car model series and continues its way into the sustainable mobiltiy. According to the manufacturer, the Taycan Cross Turismo benefits just like the Taycan sports sedan from the innovative electric drive with 800-volt architecture. The new high-tech chassis with all-wheel drive and adaptive air suspension also ensures uncompromising dynamics even off the beaten track. Up to 47 millimeters more headroom for the passengers in the rear and over 1,200 liters of cargo space behind the large tailgate make the Cross Turismo an all-rounder. The Taycan 4 Cross Turismo will be available with 280 kW / 380 hp, the overboost-power by use of the Launch Control comes up to 350 kW / 476 hp. The vehicle accelerates to 100 kilometers per hour in 5.1 seconds; the top is 220. The range is specified with 389 to 456 kilometers. The Taycan 4S Cross Turismo needs 4.1 seconds to 100 with 360 kW / 490 hp, overboost power with Launch Control 420 kW / 571 hp, top speed 240, range 388 to 452 kilometers. The Taycan Turbo Cross Turismo with 460 kW / 625 hp provides 500 kW / 680 hp in overboost with Launch Control (acceleration from zero to 100) in 3.3 seconds, top 250, range from 395 to 452 kilometers. The top version is the Taycan Turbo S Cross Turismo with 460 kW / 625 hp, which accelerates from zero to 100 in 2.9 seconds and drives at 250 kph.

Its overboost-power through use of the Launch Control is numbered with 560 kW / 761 hp by Porsche; its range with 388 to 419 kilometers. In terms of design, the Taycan Cross Turismo is based closely on the Mission E Cross Turismo concept study presented at the Geneva Motor Show in 2018: the silhouette is determined by the sporty, sloping roofline - called the “flyline” by the Porsche designers. The off-road design elements include wheel arch trims, independent front and rear lower parts as well as the side skirts. In combination with the Offroad Design package, the Cross Turismo has special flaps on the corners of the front and rear bumpers and on the ends of the sills. These ensure a striking appearance and at the same time protect against falling rocks. The high-tech chassis with all-wheel drive and adaptive air suspension is standard.

The Porsche Drivers Selection announced a Taycan Turbo S Cross Turismo in mamba green metallic and in scale 1:43, which will come to the collector in March under the item number WAP0207830M003. The Taycan 4S Cross Turismo will appear in April in icegrey metallic WAP0207840M005, but so far without any information from which supplier or from which material the modelcars will be built. Our tip: Spark, Minichamps or Norev. The information for the scale 1:18 is a little more conclusive, because we learn that the Taycan Turbo S in mambagreen will be delivered as a limited model made of resin plastic (WAP0217830M001) in March; also limited to 2,000 pieces like the Taycan 4S in icegrey (WAP0217840M004). Hence our prediction: Spark will build these modelcars! In the format 1:18 from diecast, the Taycan Turbo S Cross Turismo in gentian blue metallic (WAP0217830M002) is announced, probably by Norev or Minichamps, like the silver one for June.
