KÜS Team75 Bernhard on the Sachsenring: Look ahead

back to blog overview

Our friends have built up their destroyed Porsche 911 GT3 R and now set the focus on the next races of the ADAC GT Masters

Good news for the fans: For the ADAC GT Masters at the Sachsenring on October 2nd to 4th, the authorities have allowed a maximum of 6,000 spectators to be there live on the basis of a hygiene and infection protection concept drawn up by the organizers! And the Porsche 911 GT3 R with starting number 17 of the KÜS Team75 Bernhard, which was badly damaged in the last lap of the Sunday race at the ADAC GT Masters in Hockenheim, is - good news - ready for action again. Rounds seven and eight will be held at the Sachsenring next weekend in the so-called "League of Super Sports Cars". At the halfway point of the season, Porsche works driver Simona De Silvestro from Switzerland and ex-Porsche junior Klaus Bachler (29) from Austria will again aim for the podium or at least the point ranks on number 17.

In the sister car with starting number 18, David Jahn (29) from Leipzig and Jannes Fittje (21) from Langenhain want to continue their strong series because they have been able to score championship points in all races of the season so far. Of course, their fans can also follow the two hour-long races live on television: On Saturday and Sunday, the live broadcast, scheduled for an hour each, begins at 1 pm on Sport1 (German TV-channel). The Sachsenring Circuit in Hohenstein-Ernstthal with its 3.645 kilometers of track builds on the tradition that began in 1927. At the time it started with a motorcycle race, the route, which was newly created in 1996, made up of old parts of the course and new sections, offers two-wheelers as well as cars an attractive basis for holding your competitions without affecting public transport as it once did.

KÜS Team75 Bernhard team boss Timo Bernhard, two-time endurance world champion and two-time Le Mans winner: “The Sachsenring is a beautiful natural race track. Unfortunately, we've never had that little bit of luck there that you need in the ADAC GT Masters. In 2018, for example, we had a victory on the track, but that was subsequently denied due to a triviality. But we will keep pushing and fighting to achieve a top result there too. I like the route. We'll have to wait and see how the weather turns out; the conditions could well be changeable. But I am confident because in the past races we were always within striking distance of the top 3 positions, at least on Saturdays." The ck-modelcars.de team keeps its fingers crossed for the coming weekend!
