The Monte Carlo Rally is generally regarded as the highlight of rallying and is an event with enormous appeal. In 1980 Walter Röhrl and his co-pilot Christan Geistdörfer fulfilling their greatest dream by winning the prestigious event for the first time on a Fiat 131 Abarth. It was the start of a great year for the German in which they were crowned as world champions. Three further Monte Carlo Rally victories should follow in the years '82 to '84, each time in a rally car of another brand.

40 years after their first victory Röhrl and Geistdörfer took a trip into the past and took part in the Monte Carlo Historique Rally 2020, this time in a Porsche 911 SC.
