Friends of our blog have long known that Ck-modelcars and the team of two-time long-distance world champion Timo Bernhard from Bruchmühlbach-Miesau are working together as part of the ADAC GT Masters. So we are very happy that next weekend the next round of the league of super sports cars starts; a week after the Spa-Francorchamps' 24-hour race, in which the team showed a good performance, but had to give up without any fault. But Timo Bernhard and his boys are going with the right attitude: "After the race is before the race". The disappointment of Spa is checked off, now all the concentration is on the two races of the ADAC GT Masters, which goes after an eight-week break in the second half of the season. And this second half of the season the KÜS Team75 Bernhard will shake up properly.

The Nürburgring should fit well with the Porsche 911 GT3 R with its 367 kw / 500 hp. In the Eifel, the two Porsche works drivers Timo Bernhard (37) and Kévin Estre (29) from France with start number 17 are therefore targeting the first season podium; With start number 18, ex-Porsche junior Klaus Bachler (27) from Austria and his Belgian colleague Adrien de Leener (29) are aiming for the first points. The two one-hour races will be started on Saturday at 13:15 and on Sunday at 13:08 and broadcast live in Sport1. Hopefully things are going better at the Nürburgring, as local hero Laurens Vanthoor, 27, overcame a many-round opponent in the 24-hour race in Belgium when he collided with Vanthoor with an ill-considered action and turned in front of the Porsche.

To top it all rammed a subsequent competitor Vanthoors Porsche, dragged heavily damaged in the pits. The inventory made a continuation of the race seem little sense. Once the repair would have taken a long time and on the other, the absolute safety of the driver and the car has the highest priority at the KÜS Team75 Bernhard. During the night and early morning, Vanthoor and his teammates Timo Bernhard and Earl Bamber (28) from New Zealand were doing very well, mostly in the top five teams in the heavily occupied international GT field. The podium was within reach. Until 9:52 clock the lightning struck and the use of the tradition-rich endurance race was over. And what awaits the team in the Eifel?

Klaus Graf on the GT Masters at Nürburgring

Team manager Klaus Graf: "We are looking forward to the second half of the season in the ADAC GT Masters, which is going to be a big success, the races are more in rhythm at two or three weeks, which is an advantage for us as a team. At the Nürburgring it is always extremely close, the field is very balanced, but the track with the braking and acceleration phases should be our Porsche so a podium finish is the declared goal Constant in the top ten, now the podium would be due for our starting number 17. The same applies for a points placement for the start number 18. Adrien has a big increase behind and was already very strong at the Nürburgring last year be with us. "
