The Porsche 911 in the 997 series was produced from 2004 to 2012 and is the sixth 911 generation. What many Porsche lovers appreciate about it is that it takes up the round headlights of previous generations. For its predecessor, the model series 996, Porsche chose a shape that is still often compared to a melted fried egg and therefore didn't exactly win many fans. The return to the round headlight was therefore met with much applause. In July 2008, the 997 underwent a facelift and was then referred to as 997.2. The sportiest version of the model series that was able to be put together in the Porsche configurator in 2009 is the Porsche 911 (997.2) GT3 RS, which the label Minichamps offers exclusively and in limited editions at ck-modelcars. Three different designs are available. What they all have in common are the red rims and the red decorative applications in GT3-RS style. When choosing the basic colors, Minichamps was based on the fact that the GT3 RS of the 997 model series was only available in three colors, even in a 1:1 scale. The basic colors blue metallic and white are limited to a quantity of 504 pieces, whereas the model in grey has a total of 704 pieces. All three models in scale 1:43 reflect Minichamps' usual high quality and meet collectors' expectations of a high-quality modelcar.
When the 997 model series received its facelift and the addition of “.2”, the 911 received a number of innovations. On the one hand, for the first time on a 911, the headlights are equipped with light-emitting diodes. Bi-xenon headlights are used as standard in the front of the Porsche and cornering lights are available as an option. The acceleration value also changes on the 997.2. The GT3 RS sprints to 100 kph 0.4 seconds faster than the pre-facelift model 997.1. This is due to the optionally available Porsche Doppelkupplung (Dual-clutch) (PDK), which makes shifting possible without interruption in traction. As far as colors go, the GT3 RS 3.8 was actually only available in three colors that Minichamps modeled on when painting its models. Anyone who wanted to order the 997.2 GT3 RS had the choice between Carrara white, aqua blue metallic and gray black. Another distinguishing feature of the GT3 RS is the dual exhaust system, whose exhaust pipes are arranged in the middle. In the 997 model series, only the Cup, R, RS and RSR models have this feature.
Porsche GT3 RS that always means that a high-revring naturally aspirated engine does its job in the rear of the Porsche. In the case of the 997, this is a 3.8-liter six-cylinder boxer engine that accelerates the 997 from a standstill to 100 kph in 3.9 seconds. The engine produces 415 hp and a curb weight of 1445kg. The GT3 RS 2009 reaches its top speed at 310 kph. In 2011, Porsche presented a special model limited to 600 examples. The GT3 RS 4.0 has an increased displacement of four liters and produces 500 hp. At this point, it is the largest available engine ever installed in a GT3 model.
