Porsche LMP 2000 – The legend that never raced
The Porsche LMP 2000 was developed in the late 1990s as a Le Mans prototype with a naturally aspirated V10 engine. Although the car showed great potential, the project was shelved in 1999 shortly before it was due to compete, due to cost considerations. After just 78 kilometres of testing, the racing car disappeared into the Porsche Museum for 25 years. It was not until 2024 that Porsche Heritage restored this unique prototype to running order and took it back onto the track with test driver Allan McNish – an emotional revival of one of the most mysterious racing cars in Porsche’s history.
This modelcar commemorates this extraordinary chapter in Porsche’s motorsport history and brings the never-raced Le Mans prototype into the display cabinet as a meticulously detailed collector’s model.
