Laurin Heinrich started his motorsport career in 2007. With a detour via the ADAC Formula 4, he ended up in the Porsche Super Sports Cup in 2019 and won the championship there in his first year. This was followed by three years in the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany, which Heinrich also crowned with a championship title in 2022 and which earned him a place as a junior driver in the Porsche Junior program.
In 2023 he made his first DTM appearance. He started the season for the team of ex-racing driver Timo Bernhard alongside Ayhancan Güven. The label Ixo has now released the Porsche 911 GT3 R with the starting number 75, in which Laurin Heinrich celebrated his DTM debut, in the scales 1:18 and 1:43. The striking paintwork and the starting number commemorate the 75th anniversary of Porsche Motorsport in 2023 and are an eye-catcher for any model collection.
In addition to Laurin Heinrich's vehicle, a total of six identical Porsche 911 GT3 Rs were on the starting line in the 2023 DTM season. Heinrich was already able to make a few marks in his first DTM season. In the Saturday race at the Norisring, he drove the fastest lap. The following weekend at the Nürburgring, Heinrich secured his first DTM podium with second place. At the Red Bull Ring, he put the KÜS Team Bernhard Porsche on pole position in qualifying for the Saturday race and crossed the finish line in second place behind last year's champion Sheldon van der Linde.
Of the 33 drivers in the 2023 season, Laurin Heinrich finished 13th and his points also helped Porsche win the manufacturers' championship. Heinrich has been driving for the AO Racingteam in the American IMSA series since 2024.
The Porsche 911 GT3 R is specially designed for use in endurance races and GT races. Based on the production model of the 911, the GT3 R offers numerous adjustments. The vehicle weight has been optimized and revised aerodynamics ensure improved downforce and stability. The body is partly made of carbon fiber to further increase handling and agility on the track. The modified suspension and the improved braking system are specifically tailored to racing. With the 911 GT3 R, Porsche provides private teams with a robust and at the same time competitive vehicle for international motorsport in the GT sector.
