The Petit Le Mans 10-hour race at Road Atlante traditionally marks the season finale of the North American IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and the IMSA Endurance Cup. In this series, Porsche fielded two factory-backed Porsche 911 RSRs in the top GTLM class, the only 911s to utilize the mid-engine layout.

The No. 911 car, with its red accents, driven by Patrick Pilet, Nick Tandy, and Frédéric Makowiecki, took the lead three hours before the finish and held it until the checkered flag. This secured the trio their second victory of the season, following their triumph at Sebring.

The sister car, with its yellow accents, driven by Laurens Vanthoor, Earl Bamber, and Mathieu Jaminet, who made his GTLM debut in the race, briefly led the race after an early tire puncture. However, a drive-through penalty dropped the #912 car back, so the trio ultimately finished in sixth place.

Many teams bring special liveries to the Petit Le Mans race each year. Porsche did the same in 2018. To celebrate the brand's 70th anniversary, they revived the design of the 1998 Porsche 911 GT1, which won the 24 Hours of Le Mans that year. This victory by Allan McNish, Stéphane Ortelli, and Laurent Aiello remains the car's only overall win in the endurance classic at the Circuit de la Sarthe.

But the design, with its striking blue pattern and red or yellow accents on the otherwise white car, wasn't just a hit in Europe. In the inaugural 10-hour race, the car with starting number 26 qualified on pole position. However, the team's race ended in spectacular fashion when Yannick Dalmas, in the slipstream of a competitor, caught some air and, after a backflip, crashed hard into the barrier.

The model of the two Porsche 911 RSRs in scale 1:18 was produced by Ixo in their usual high quality and accurately reflects the original.
