In the 2024 Formula 1-season, McLaren was ultimately unable to prevent Max Verstappen from winning his fourth consecutive world championship title, but nonetheless had plenty of reasons to celebrate. Both Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri won their first Formula 1 race in 2024. Coupled with a total of 21 podium finishes and consistency on both sides of the garage, McLaren won the Constructors' World Championship for the first time since 1998. In addition, the team is highly regarded by many fans with its entertaining driver duo, charismatic team boss Zak Brown, eye-catching design and decades-long tradition. The same should apply to the four Solide models of the MCL38 from the 2024 season.
Lando Norris took his first victory in the sixth race of the season in Miami. Solido has faithfully reproduced the successful car from the still young US Grand Prix. The same applies to the racer of teammate Oscar Piastri, which the Australian drove to a good fourth place at his home race in Melbourne.
In Monaco, McLaren competed with a tribute design for Ayrton Senna, which wrapped the MCL38 in the Brazilian national colors. Senna and McLaren had been a successful combination in the principality for years and had also delivered some of the most spectacular driving scenes in Formula 1 history. The team showed off the special outfit with success. Oscar Piastri celebrated his first podium of the season in second place and Lando Norris secured valuable points in fourth place.
Alpine's racing history is just as interesting as that of McLaren. When comparing the 2024 success records, however, the French are clearly at a disadvantage. At the start of the season, Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon even struggled in the last places of the field with the uncompetitive A524. A much-needed turnaround came in the middle of the year with restructuring under the new team boss Oliver Oakes. The conciliatory highlight was the double podium at the chaotic Brazilian Grand Prix.
The two Solido models are dedicated to the races in which Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly scored their first World Championship points of the season. For Ocon, this was tenth place in Miami, while Gasly scored points for the first time with tenth place in Monaco.
The Solido range is rounded off by two models of the Sauber, which, after the seven-year partnership with Alfa Romeo, drove in the green and black colors of Stake in 2024. The Swiss team finished the season in last place in the Constructors' World Championship. The only point result was eighth place in Qatar with Zhou Guanyu.
The Chinese driver had already made a good start with inferior material. In Bahrain, Zhou narrowly missed the World Championship points with eleventh place. In addition to the model from Bahrain, Solido has recreated the C44 of Valtteri Bottas from Japan. The Finn finished 14th in Suzuka. Neither driver received a regular cockpit for the 2025 season.
All eight Solido models in scale 1:18 were manufactured in the usual high quality. This also makes the cockpit replica, including the driver figures, impressively true to the original.
