Among other things, there is the Audi Sport quattro S1 E2 in a scale of 1:18. The CMR model is a lovingly designed souvenir of Röhrl's record run on Pikes Peak. In 1987, the man from Regensburg competed in the prestigious mountain race in Colorado and conquered the mountain in just 10:47.85 minutes - faster than anyone else before him. What makes the modelcar so unique? A look into the detailed cockpit is enough to put yourself in the position of the exceptionally talented Röhrl at the steering wheel.
Also in scale 1:18, but produced by the manufacturer Ixo, another Audi is waiting to be used in the showcase: the modelcar manufacturer brought out the 1986 season's racecar, with which Walter Röhrl and co-driver Christian Geistdörfer completed the Monte Carlo Rally. In contrast to the Pikes Peak model, the car impresses with its distinctive yellow and white livery.
Speaking of Monte Carlo: Röhrl won four of his 14 races in the World Rally Championship alone in the popular rally on the Côte d'Azur. For these four "Monte" victories, CMR has the right modelcar on a scale of 1:43 - starting with the Fiat 131 Abarth from 1980, the Opel Ascona from 1982, the Lancia 037 from 1983 and the Audi Sport quattro A2 from the season 1984
We could go on and on with the list of his achievements, but we don't. Instead, we recommend taking a look at the history of the rally legend for yourself. Numerous models on a scale of 1:43 and 1:18 tell the story of Walter Röhrl's life.
Walter Röhrl was born on March 7th, 1947.
