The Brazilian Grand Prix in São Paulo took place on 25 September 2005 and covered a distance of 71 laps (305.909 km).
With his third place in this 17th of 19 races of the season, Fernando Alonso in the Renault secured the drivers' title ahead of time. At the age of 24, Alonso was the youngest Formula 1 world champion and also the first Spaniard to win the title.
