Tim Heinemann's success story began in SimRacing in 2009, the virtual motorsport on the PC. A year later, he took first place in the RaceRoom Challenge. This was followed by two more victories in the ADAC SimRacing Trophy and a victory in the virtual DTM in 2015. Two victories in the AMG eRacing Competition in 2016 and 2017 secured Tim Heinemann a place in the AMG Driving Academy, where the instructors quickly recognized that he also had talent behind the wheel of a real racing car.

With his first start in the real DTM in 2023, Tim Heinemann showed that the path from simulation to professional racing is possible. The label Ixo has released the Porsche 911 GT3 R with starting number 9 from his first DTM season in scale 1:18 and 1:43. The paint job, which was created in collaboration with YouTube star Jean Pierre Kraemer, was certainly one of the most striking of the season due to its color combination. In addition to the paint job, Ixo also captured all the other details on Heinemann's car in the scale model.
With his story, Tim Heinemann proves that SimRacing is no longer just a gaming experience, but a virtual replica of real motorsport. This is also recognized by ex-racing driver and DTM legend Bernd Schneider, who was able to compete with Heinemann on the track at the AMG Driving Academy and then offered Heinemann his help. In 2019, Tim Heinemann completed his first full racing season in a GT4 vehicle in the ADAC GT4 Germany and finished the season in 7th place with two overall victories.

The following year he became champion with a lead of more than 100 points. This was followed by two years for the man from Fichtenberg in the Toyota GR Supra, with which he secured the championship title in the DTM Trophy in 2022. A series that is held as part of the DTM supporting program. At this point, Heinemann is no longer a stranger to the popular 24-hour race at the Nürburgring and the associated Nürburgring endurance series.

In the DTM season 2023, Tim Heinemann started for the Toksport WRT team together with Christian Engelhart in the Porsche 911 GT3 R. When the first two races in Oschersleben are over and Tim Heinemann crossed the finish line in second place on both days, everything looks as if a real sensation could be in the offing.

Unfortunately, the rest of the season did not go the way it started. In addition to four retirements, Heinemann mostly took midfield positions. At the end of the season, he is in 18th place overall with 50 points. Nevertheless, he proves what he can do behind the wheel in one or two catch-up drives and in various duels with real DTM veterans.
