The models of the Porsche 911 GT3 R from the year 2019 are now available in scale 1:18 by manufacturer IXO and bring the feeling of the 24-hour race into the living room.

"The fastest Frikadelle (meatball) in the world" has been one of the absolute fan favorites for years. The cars of Klaus Abbelen's team are always in the classic red and white design with the meatball and the glass of Kölsch (beer) on the rear fenders.

In 2019, the Porsche 911 GT3 R had a top-class drivers as usual in the 24-hour race. In addition to the experienced Romain Dumas, the three young Porsche drivers Matt Campbell, Sven Müller and Mathieu Jaminet started with the number 31 car. After a phenomenal lap by Jaminet in top qualifying, the quartet started the race from fifth on the grid. Unfortunately, the team could not build on the successes of the previous VLN races and, after fighting their way up to second place, retired early due to damage caused by a tire burst.

The 47th edition of the endurance classic event was also unfortunate for the Falken Motorsports team. The team, which has been using the Nürburgring-Nordschleife for the development of its racing tires for many years, used the well-known Porsche 911 GT3 R with the traditional starting number 44 in addition to the BMW M6 GT3.

The driver line-up of the team from Butzbach was also top-class. In addition to the two Austrians Martin Ragginger and Klaus Bachler, who achieved the first VLN victories for the Falken-Porsche the year before, Jörg Bergmeister and Dirk Werner, two other Nordschleife specialists, were behind the wheel of the mint-turquoise Porsche.

After Falken Motorsports had improved to tenth position in the race, a puncture threw the team far back. A repair following an accident on Sunday ended the chance of a good result for good, but the pit crew managed to fix the 911 and it saw the checkered flag.

The two Porsche 911 GT3 R from the manufacturer IXO in scale 1:18 are exclusively available at ck-modelcars. The models were produced in the usual high quality and reflect the originals as best as possible.
