Modelcars in scale 1:8 have tradition since many years: Let's think about the legendary Pocher-models as examples of Ferrari. In the last time, this scale became a bit neglected from the modelcar producers, however the scale 1:8 celebrates a comeback with the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL from Premium X. The model is build out of diecast and offers to open doors as well as the hood, where behind those, many details are located. A successful example because the 300 SL is pleased of the great popularity by the fans: It had been offered with the internal type designation W 198 in the years from 1954 to 1957 as a coupe with the world famous gullwing function. In the years from 1957 to 1963 the car became offered as a roadster and counts nowadays to the most valuable oldtimers with a purchase price of over one million euros!

The lovers of this car should not be scared about the relatively high priced modelcar, which is presented now because finally they become an appropriate value for the money. At articles of models with scale 1:12, we represent the opinion that these miniatures can easily be placed for themselves in a room for exmaple, and the Mercedes-Benz above all: a whopping 57 centimeters messures the model of the 4,520 meter long sports car in scale 1:8; less than the half of it, it would be in scale 1:18, so 26 centimeters. This of course impresses the visitors, who can be astonished: A perfectly workmanship of the surface for example, the radii and curves, which are exactly covering the real example. Its just an excellent craftsmanship and high quality.

The details are the icing on the cake

Let's have a look on the sports grill, the chrome strips, the headlights as well as the design of the ventilation gills on the sides: Amazing! The inline six cylinder of the series M 198, which produces 158 kW / 215 PS out of 3,0 liters capacity in the real car, is nice to look at the scale 1:8 model as well. The same applies for the gullwing function, which open very wide. The interior is also very impressive, it seems like it's real. The straps at the luggage rack, the copy of the Bakelit-steering wheel and - shifter: It can't become more bautiful! With up to 260 km/h, the top speed of the 300 SL is set - with this exactly force, it approaches us and meets us in the middle of our collector's heart! What a modelcar! Standing Ovations!
