On the occasion of the start of the 1969 24 hours of LeMans, Jacky Ickx decided to walk quietly towards his Ford GT and to take time to put his harness before leaving, in the last position to mark his disapproval of this type of start that he considered dangerous. John Woolfe was one of the fastest at the start, but had an accident in the first lap and died, because he was not wearing his seatbelt.
