Klaus Ludwig is one of the most successful German touring car drivers of all time. The Bonn native celebrated, among other achievements, three overall victories at Le Mans, a triumph at Sebring, and two championship titles in the German Racing Championship (DRM). However, Ludwig is especially remembered by fans for his three DTM titles.

Ludwig had already achieved success in the predecessor series – the German Racing Championship (DRM). After a one-year hiatus, he rejoined the DRM in 1978. For the 1979 season, he switched to Kremer Racing and formed an unbeatable team. Of the eleven races held, Ludwig won ten in Division 1, securing the title comfortably ahead of Hans Heyer in the best Division 2 car, with 215 points to Heyer's 177.

His Porsche 935 K3 was already an icon back then. Initially, the car was used by factory teams from 1976 to 1978, achieving numerous victories in races and championships, both as a factory car and later with customer teams. These included the German Racing Championship (DRM), the World Sportscar Championship (WMS), the IMSA GT Series, and endurance races at Le Mans, Daytona, and Sebring. This makes the Porsche 935 one of the most successful production-based racing cars to this day.

Over time, the 935 underwent numerous developments and modifications. Among other things, Kremer Racing developed the 935 K3 in 1978, which, with numerous optimizations, was used from the 1979 season onward and convincingly won the DRM title in its very first year with Klaus Ludwig at the wheel.

In reference to the traditional grapefruit and vodka liqueur, the light blue Porsche was affectionately nicknamed "Mambo." The model in scale 1:18 was produced by WERK83 and reflects the original as accurately as possible. The car features a true-to-life cockpit replica, steerable front wheels, and opening doors.
