The come back of the Ford Mustang to the grand stage of international GT3 racing generated enormous attention even before the event. With the new Mustang GT3, Ford Performance brought a true icon back to endurance racing – loud, powerful, and unmistakably American. At the 2025 Nürburgring 24 Hours, the Mustang GT3 faced perhaps the toughest challenge in GT racing: the Nordschleife. The car with starting number 65, driven by Dennis Fetzer, David Schumacher, Salman Owega, and Jusuf Owega, ultimately secured a strong fourth place overall.
The two models from Ixo, in the scales 1:18 and 1:43, now bring this very special appearance to the collector's display case. The characteristic paint scheme has been reproduced cleanly and with meticulous attention to detail. The aggressive front end, wide fenders, and striking rear wing, in particular, give the model a powerful presence, regardless of the scale.
The version in scale 1:18 impresses with its size and the ability to perceive many details with particular intensity. At the same time, the more compact 1:43 scale model also impresses with its precise printing and harmonious proportions. Both models convincingly convey the atmosphere of the Nürburgring race and clearly demonstrate how spectacular the Mustang GT3 looked on the Nordschleife.
The car's mere presence generated enthusiasm around the Eifel region. The Mustang GT3 combined the classic DNA of the American muscle car with modern GT3 technology, thus acting as a deliberate counterpoint to the European cars in the starting field. The muscular grille, the low front end, and the striking silhouette made the Ford one of the most eye-catching cars in the entire race.
The Mustang also proved its mettle on the track. Over the entire distance, the car demonstrated impressive consistency and held its own against strong competition from Porsche, BMW, Mercedes-AMG, and Audi. Especially on the Nordschleife, where bumps, changing weather, and heavy traffic punish even the smallest mistakes, the Mustang GT3 proved its reliability and competitiveness. Fourth place in the 2025 Nürburgring 24-hour race was therefore far more than just a good result. It was a clear indication that Ford has returned to the top ranks of international GT racing.
With its fourth-place finish in the 2025 Nürburgring 24-hour race, the Ford Mustang GT3 has definitively established itself as a serious contender. The cars commemorate one of the most exciting performances of the season and the successful return of a motorsport icon to modern endurance racing.
