Christian Danner is a well-known figure in German Formula 1. For almost three decades, the man from Munich has served as an expert commentator for the TV channel RTL during their broadcasts of the premier class of motorsport. Prior to that, between 1985 and 1989, Danner himself competed in a total of 36 Grands Prix for Zakspeed, Osella, Arrows, and Rial. His best result was fourth place in Phoenix in 1989.

During this time, Danner was also involved in touring car racing. Between 1988 and 1996, he was part of the DTM and its international counterpart, the ITC, which was added in 1995. During this period, Danner drove one of the most popular cars in the field. His Alfa Romeo 155 evoked a great deal of emotion. The bright red livery with the TV Spielfilm logos was typical of the Italian racing touring car at the time. The sound of the high-revving, 2.5-liter six-cylinder engine also set it apart from the competition and continues to inspire enthusiasm even in historic racing fields.

As part of the DTM's internationalization, the 1995 season, combined with the ITC, offered an interesting mix of permanent circuits as well as street and airfield tracks in Germany, including globally renowned venues like Mugello, Donington, and Estoril. Both nationally and internationally, the street circuits particularly suited Christian Danner at that time. Within three weeks, he climbed to the top step of the podium twice.

First, Danner triumphed in early June at the inaugural ITC race in Helsinki. The track ran through the port area of ??the Finnish capital and was only briefly part of the motorsport landscape. After two ITC races, the FIA ??GT and Formula 3000 series raced there in 1997 before the event disappeared.

With a memorable ITC victory from Finland already under his belt, Christian Danner then went on to win a DTM race in his home state of Bavaria at the end of June. On the historic Norisring circuit in Nuremberg, he secured victory in the first race of the weekend under challenging, drying conditions.

The ck-modelcars label WERK83 has released Christian Danner's popular 1995 Alfa Romeo, featuring the TV Spielfilm livery, in scale 1:18. The cockpit has been faithfully reproduced and can be easily viewed through the opening doors. The front wheels are also steerable.
