With a sliding roof into the sunny week: Fiat 500 L from Norev

With a sliding roof into the sunny week: Fiat 500 L from Norev

Fiat released 3,702,078 units from its Fiat 500 compact car onto the road from the years 1957 to 1975. The likeable-looking cult vehicle was Italy's answer to the Volkswagen Beetle and is now also the model for two modelcars that Norev is presenting to the collectors in scale 1:18. The French delivered miniatures of the Fiat 500 L  from 1968 and in coral red under the item number 187771; under 187772 the models from 1971 are available in reduced size in Tahiti yellow. They are both made from diecast and limited to 500 units each. With these modelcars, the French from Vaulx-en-Vaulin managed to transfer the lines of the design and the appearance of the legendary small car perfectly to the format. We take a closer look at the 500s at the start of the obviously sunny week: They bring a roller roof!

The Fiat 500 L in coral red should make the beginning. With these models, Norev replicates the 1968 vintage: the 500 L is the luxury variant of the base with the internal letter F that was introduced in 1965. Compared to its predecessor, the D variant, it received the two-cylinder, which was strengthened to 13 kW / 18 hp. The air-cooled in-line engine with a displacement of 0.5 liters delivered a maximum torque of 31 Newton meters (Nm). The top speed of the small car equipped with a four-speed manual transmission is exactly 100 kilometers per hour. The curb weight is given as 520 kg. The self-supporting body has a chassis with independent wheel suspension. The Fiat 500 L is recognizable from the outside by the chrome bar above the bumper and its chrome trim strips: a touch of luxury even in 1:18.
