With this item W18071001, WERK83 is launching a model of particular historical significance in the history of motorsport.
The Porsche 917/69 #29 is not just any winning car, but the car that secured the very first 917 race victory. On 10 August 1969, Jo Siffert and Kurt Ahrens Jr. won the 1,000 km of Zeltweg. The race also marked the start of an era and was an important milestone for the 917, which was still new at the time and difficult to handle.
Of particular interest to collectors: No. 29 is assigned to chassis 009. For Zeltweg, the car featured specific bodywork modifications, including widened rear wheel arches, larger front brake vents, an additional cooling air intake and further ventilation openings. Furthermore, the front wings of the #29 were only painted green the day before the race – a lovely detail that is important for a faithful model reproduction.
The Porsche 917 driven by Siffert and Ahrens qualified in fourth place, took the lead early on and ultimately won after 170 laps in 5:23:36.8 hours.
