This Porsche 908/02 was not just another competitor in the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1970 – it had a very special mission.
Racing under #29, the Porsche entered by Steve McQueen’s Solar Productions was equipped with three film cameras. Driven by Herbert Linge and Jonathan Williams, the camera car raced right in the heart of the action, capturing spectacular footage at full racing speed.
The footage recorded during the race became part of Steve McQueen’s legendary film “Le Mans”, turning the Porsche 908 into a unique piece of both motorsport and cinematic history.
