In 2005, Renault and Fernando Alonso finally wanted their first world championship title, and with the Renault R25, the French had created the perfect foundation for a successful season. While some teams had already switched to V8 engines, Renault started again with its tried and tested V10 naturally aspirated engine. Although it wasn't the most powerful, it offered the optimal balance between performance and durability. With a focus on the reliability of the vehicle, Renault was one step ahead of the competition in a season marked by several rule changes. Alonso finished almost every race in the points and also profited from problems of his competitors.

The Spaniard had already started the season strongly: his first victory in the second race in Malaysia immediately put him in the lead of the world championship. With victories in Bahrain and San Marino, he quickly grew into the role of absolute title favorite. By the middle of the season, however, a thrilling duel with McLaren's Kimi Räikkönen was looming. But Alonso collected victories, podium places and important championship points with impressive consistency, so that the title was decided between the Finn and Alonso at the Grand Prix in São Paulo. Third place was enough for the then 24-year-old to become the youngest world champion in Formula 1 history.

There are, among other things, models in scale 1:18 of his victories at the San Marino GP and French GP, as well as models of the races in São Paolo and Belgium, where Alonso made it onto the podium.
