The Porsche 911 GT3 R from Rutronik Racing is a top-class racing car. The four-liter six-cylinder boxer engine with 565 hp, the aerodynamic improvements compared to the series GT3 and the combination of the top drivers Laurin Heinrich, Dennis Olsen and Thomas Preining promised an impressive performance right from the start.

During training and qualifying, it was already clear that Rutronik Racing with the yellow and blue Porsche 911 GT3 R represented serious competition, even if it ultimately only managed a disappointing 30th place on the grid. However, the team was able to work its way consistently into the top 10 over the first few hours. Rutronik Racing proved its strength particularly in the night hours, which are particularly challenging in Spa-Francorchamps due to the demanding track conditions. Dennis Olsen delivered an impressive performance and was able to make up valuable time on the leaders during his stint.

In addition to the tough competition, the teams had to deal with inconsistent weather conditions again and again in the Ardennes. The characteristic Belgian rain made the race a game of chance, where every decision on the choice of tires or pit strategy could decide between victory and defeat. Rutronik Racing reacted appropriately to the changing conditions and the drivers also showed their class. Laurin Heinrich shone in the rainy sections, while Thomas Preining used his experience in decisive duels.

After an almost flawless drive and despite the changeable conditions, the team was in an excellent position to secure a podium place shortly before the end of the race. In the end, it was fifth place overall for the Rutronik Racing team, which once again underlined its class in international GT3 sport.
