The volunteer team has been involved in educational projects in third-world countries since 2020 and collects donations for the Reiner Meutsch Foundation FLY & HELP with campaigns related to their race starts. This year ck-modelcars was again one part of it.
In the past years, the team started with the white Dodge Viper CC GT3, which mutated into an absolute crowd pleaser. Last year, the end of the Viper was announced and the team began building a VW Beetle RSR for the 2023 24-hour race at the Nürburgring. Since the VW was not ready in time, Bernd Albrecht and Kurt Ecke decided without wasting time to team up and realize the charity project on the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup used by QA Racing by Kurt Ecke Motorsport.
The red, black and white Cup nine-eleven, which was driven by Kurt Ecke, Bernd Albrecht, Andreas Sczepansky and Steffen Schlichenmeier, not only shone with its appearance, but above all with its reliability. Except for a replaced V-belt, the four-liter, six-cylinder boxer engine ran through the entire 24-hour race without a break, and so in the end it was 48th overall and second in the SP7 class.
In addition to the strong performance of the drivers and the volunteer team, the main focus was on the fundraisers next to the track. A raffle at the team tent or the donation barrel at the Ravenol Ferris wheel attracted the attention of many visitors and fans and so generous donations for the educational expansion could once again be collected by the Reiner Meutsch FLY & HELP Foundation.
This project can always only be realized with the support of the sponsors, who make the success of the team and the use of the vehicles possible in the first place. ck-modelcars was also part again this year as a sponsor and supporter of the White Angel for FLY & HELP team and made an important contribution so that the team, vehicle and driver could be seen at the Nürburgring for the entire weekend of the 24-hour race.
