Our review today is for an exceptionally well-designed car, whose lightness in appearance results solely from the roof structure with its delicate columns: The Ferrari 330 GTC celebrated its debut in the program of the small series label CMR, which presented the sportscar, built from 1966 to 1968, now in scale 1:18 and in two versions. In classic silver, the modelcar is available under the item number CMR048; in Ferrari typical red under CMR050. Both versions shine not only because of the immaculately applied paint, but with a numerous remarkable details. The radiator grill and the cross spoke wheels with central lock stand out in particular. The appearance of the model is perfectly in line with that of the prototype, which premiered at the Geneva Motor Show in 1966.

The Ferrari 330 GTC was available as a coupe and up from the Paris Motor Show of the same year also as the Spyder GTS. The design was managed by Aldo Brovarone. The vehicles are the successors of the 250 GT Lusso and the 275 GTS. The role model of our model was equipped with a twelve-cylinder engine, which is led by the name Tipo 209 in the history books of Ferrari. In the 330 GTC, the V12 with Weber's three downdraft double carburetors produces 220 kW / 300 hp, which acts on the rear wheels via a five-speed manual gearbox installed on the rear axle. The tubular frame chassis of the Ferrari 330 GTC were made of steel and assembled with construction at Pininfarina in Turin. The coupe, built in its production time for 598 times, it was completed in Maranello and had an independent suspension.

The technology and its details are hidden in the car models, made out of high-quality resin plastic. The engraving of the functional parts are impeccably and unobtrusively implemented. CMR has mastered the task of translating the front, dominated by its oval radiator opening, to scale with the two-piece bumpers and formally correct to the modelcar. The windows are framed with very well-made chrome strips; the mold-making engineers have recreated the rear end of the car, which matched the spirit of the times with the small taillights and exhaust pipes. The air outlets on the front fenders, as well as the aforementioned cross-spoke rims, testify to the attention to detail that CMR obviously has in building the modelcars. The models from this house are really recommendable!
