Actually, Rainer Braun didn't want to write a book anymore ... but the constantly repeated request of the publisher, the many wishes of the fans following his appearances on the podcast “Alte Schule” and the long lockdowns made him change his mind. Finally, the planned “Best of” turned into a whole new volume in the “Hallo Fahrerlager” series.

Over 240 fascinating pages, reporter legend Braun describes “Moments”, magical moments at the microphone, and “Memories” from 60 years in motorsport.

This time, the focus is on the old DTM pre-1996 – that legendary spectacle that no one followed quite like Rainer Braun. Over some 60 pages he tells stories to make you smile and to amaze you, about the people and the manufacturers, the races that have remained unforgettable for him and about his DTM times working with television.

In addition, there is a colourful mix of topics from “Mister Norisring” to the 24 hours at the Nürburgring, the long career of Hans-Joachim Stuck, the unforgettable German Racing Championship to Stefan Bellof’s record lap at the Ring and how the author experienced it at the microphone. But that is by far not all.

The large-format book is richly illustrated with photos from the author’s collection as well as from the archives of McKlein and selected photographers.
