The exhibition in Stuttgart has been expanded by a further exclusive exhibit from the motor sport season 2022, which is also of great importance from the point of view of ck-modelcars.

New to the collection is the 911 GT3 R from the generation 991, with which the KÜS Team Bernhard clinched the first Porsche victory in the DTM last year on July 2nd at the Norisring in Nuremberg with works driver Thomas Preining and then around until the final weekend could fight for the title.

In Saturday's race in Hockenheim, the car with number 24 was badly damaged in a serious accident, the season that had been so successful up to that point, with two wins and two more podium finishes, was over. The car, which made motorsport history, has now been repaired by the team led by brand ambassador Timo Bernhard and the Porsche Heritage and Museum department, restored to its original condition on the day of victory at the Norisring and added to the company collection.

“The best way to show the typical Porsche DNA is with a racing car. That's why we always keep a close eye on the vehicles that have been used to achieve milestones in motorsport history. That's how we quickly found Timo Bernhard's team and the DTM nine-eleven. We are thus adding an important contemporary witness to the collection,” says Achim Stejskal, Head of Porsche Heritage and Museum.

For the entire team and Timo Bernhard, overall Le Mans winner, team boss and Porsche brand ambassador, the take over of the car into the museum collection is an emotional moment. Not least because he knows the racing car very well. “Last year I used it myself to complete tests in the DTM configuration in order to be able to give my team impetus. For me, the Porsche Museum is a very special place that reaches and fascinates many people. There they can experience the history of Porsche very closely,” says the 42-year-old.

The triumph at the Norisring is extremely important for Timo Bernhard and his team: "To achieve such a victory is almost impossible to put into words." Saturday at the Norisring in front of an impressive backdrop was a "historic day for us".
