It was the BMW M4 GT3 race car that Minichamps replicated down to the last detail. 

Especially, Sheldon van der Linde's vehicle is likely popular with collectors. The South African, who has been part of the BMW works squad since 2019, has clinched one success after the other. At the finale in Hockenheim he finally finished it and achieved one of his greatest motorsport successes to date.

The triumph, however, was not only something special for van der Linde and Schubert. Also from a BMW point of view, the DTM title should have been a satisfaction. After the Munich-based company only had limited success with the BMW M6 GT3, things went much better in the first full season of the BMW M4 GT3. The car turned out to be a competitive vehicle in customer sport, which was made clear by successes such as the DTM title.

Sheldon van der Linde and Philipp Eng got a foretaste of the miniature versions of their BMW M4 GT3 in late summer 2022. They were allowed to take a close look at the preliminary models as part of the DTM at the Nürburgring. "It's always a special moment," says Christoph Krombach from ck-modelcars. “You can immediately tell that the drivers are looking forward to the model. For most drivers, it is a must to put their own vehicle in the showcase later as a model.”

There are many arguments securing both BMW M3 GT3 for the living room at home. Above all, the processing quality of Minichamps and the diecast production method characterize the models. The icing on the cake is undoubtedly the option of opening individual components of the model in scale 1:18 (full opening). This allows an insight into the interior of the cockpit with the steering wheel, seat and dashboard. The bonnet and tailgate can also be detached.

The models are limited to 777 pieces (Sheldon van der Linde) and 333 pieces (Philipp Eng). Absolute banger of the thing: The price is only 149.00 euros. This is a clear difference compared to other models in the same Minichamps product range. “The recommended retail price for diecast racing models with full opening is normally 199.95 euros. We are accordingly proud to be able to make such an exclusive offer to our loyal customers,” says Christoph Krombach.

Last but not least, thanks go to everyone involved - for example to Philipp Eng, who provided the logos and thus contributed his part to the model car development.
