04.12.2025A legend of speed and vision: Hamilton Speed ??Racer Mach 5

A Piece of Motorsport History from the World of Fiction

When the Japanese anime series Mach Go! Go! Go! – internationally known as Speed ??Racer – premiered in 1967, one very special car took center stage: the Mach 5, which quickly became an automotive icon.

Its appearance – the long, elegant front and the flowing body – is inspired by the design language of Ferrari, Jaguar, and Porsche from the 1960s, while simultaneously offering a glimpse into the future. It thus creates the perfect blend of speed and style – timeless yet modern.

From the Drawing Board to the Screen

Although the Mach 5 never existed on real racetracks, it became a cult object of automotive culture. Numerous replicas and concept models were created in the USA and Japan – most recently an elaborate film version in the 2008 live-action film "Speed ??Racer," where the designers worked closely with Hamilton to translate the aesthetics of the original into the modern era.

The Mach 5 has symbolized not only speed, but also the creative spirit of a generation. Collectors, designers, and technology enthusiasts still see it as a perfect fusion of nostalgia and innovation. After all, the vehicle boasts exceptional technical sophistication. At its heart is the futuristic control panel on the steering wheel, which activates systems such as hydraulic auto-jacks and night vision assist.

A Legacy on Wheels

More than five decades after its creation, the Hamilton Speed ??Racer Mach 5 remains a symbol of the dream of conquering the asphalt – with courage, intelligence, and heart.

And the model in scale 1:18 from Schwyn Haas more than does justice to this legacy. With its highly detailed aluminum body, complete interior, suspension, periscope, and armament (front-mounted circular saws), as well as a replica of the legendary GOV12 engine, it's sure to thrill any collector and fan.
