The success of Phoenix Racing on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife in 2022 shows how unique every single version of the endurance classic event in the Eifel and the triumph that comes with it can be. 

The anniversary race
The 24-hour race on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife is one of the most famous and renowned endurance races in the world. The first edition in the Green Hell took place in 1970. Since then, the classic event has taken place every year with three exceptions, so that Phoenix Racing won the big anniversary at the 50th edition in 2022.

The success story of Audi and Phoenix Racing
The victory in the anniversary race was the fourth success for the Phoenix Racing team with the Audi R8 LMS GT3 since 2012. The team led by Ernst Moser has thus won more races than any other team in the past decade.

Already in 2003, Phoenix Racing triumphed in its living room. After switching to Audi, the team achieved the first victory of the Audi R8 LMS GT3 in the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring in 2012. More wins followed in 2014 and 2019 before Kelvin van der Linde, Frédéric Vervisch, Robin Frijns and Dries Vanthoor managed to win the race for the fourth time in 2022.

The return to normal
The pandemic has not stopped at the motorsport world in the past years. But just in time for the 50th edition, the fans also returned to the Nordschleife. To the delight of the 230,000 spectators, the Eifel weather was also at its best during the race weekend, so that it stayed dry for the entire duration of the race for the first time since 2019.

So Kelvin van der Linde's summary is also very positive: "After the interruptions in previous years, we finally drove the full 24 hours again. The fact that the fans were there again made it even better. A huge thank you to the team from Scherer Sport, Phoenix Racing and my great teammates. We got the win as a real team.”

The winner for the living room
The model in scale 1:43 of the victorious Phoenix-Audi was made by Spark of resin in the usual high quality and reflects the original as best as possible.
