The model was produced in the usual WERK83 high-quality and reflects back the original as possible.
On 28 May 1983, Stefan Bellof set one of the most legendary lap times in motorsport history on the Nürburgring Nordschleife: In qualifying for the 1,000 km race of the World Sportscar Championship, he completed the circuit in 6:11.13 minutes – driving a Porsche 956. With an average speed of around 202 km/h, Bellof was the first driver to average over 200 km/h on the Nordschleife.
For decades, the record was considered virtually unbeatable and remained unbroken for 35 years, partly because no comparable high-performance sports car races were held on the Nordschleife following the Nürburgring’s redevelopment. Bellof’s lap thus became a legend of the ‘Green Hell’.
It was not until 29 June 2018 that the time was officially beaten: Timo Bernhard drove a lap in 5:19.546 minutes in the regulation-free Porsche 919 Hybrid Evo. Many motorsport fans nevertheless regard Bellof’s achievement as unique, because it was achieved under genuine race weekend conditions and within the constraints of technical regulations.
