The electric cars are on the advance: Not only that small cars are powered electrically, no, also the vehicles of the upper class discover the drive of the future. Whether it really is or whether it is actually better hydrogen or the synthetic fuels (eFuels) that Porsche is particularly focusing on will be dealt with elsewhere. Audi in any case relies on power from the socket and shares many components of the top model RS e-tron with the Porsche Taycan: around 40 percent of the parts, to be precise. The series, internally designated with the abbreviation FW, is produced in the sports car manufacturer Böllinger Höfe. The RS e-tron was presented for the first time on February 9th, 2021. The acceleration potential of this four-door model also corresponds to the delivery of the matching modelcars from Norev; here in daytona grey metallic.

The electric mobility becomes dynamic and fascinating, so the Audi AG and presents the evidence with the RS e-tron GT and the e-tron GT. The coupe interprets the classic Gran-Turismo-idea in a new way: Its design is actually highly emotional, as the comparison with the miniatures in scale 1:18 prove. Its technology is thrilling, according to the technology-loving people from Ingolstadt. Two electronically controlled, permanently excited synchronous machines, one on the front and one on the rear axle, ensure dynamic driving performance and thus superior electric all-wheel drive. With its 84 kWh net energy content, the high-voltage battery enables ranges of up to 488 kilometers; with its 800-volt technology, it can be recharged extremely quickly, according to the manufacturer.

The continuous output in the role model of our modelcars is estimated at 142 kW / 193 hp; the maximum system output in peak with 440 kW / 598 hp; in boost mode 475 kW / 646 hp. The maximum torque of the system in the RS e-tron GT is 830 Newton meters (Nm). The top version accelerates in 3.6 seconds to 100 kph; in boost mode it only takes 3.3 seconds to get there. At 250 kilometers per hour top speed is limited. But the higher performance is not the only difference to the basic version e-tron GT: The RS e-tron GT differs from it, among other things, through a roof made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic, a three-chamber air suspension and a brake system with a layer of tungsten carbide on the grey cast iron brake discs made of silicon carbide ceramic are available for both versions at an additional cost.

Both versions have a 405 liter big trunk at the rear and 85 liters of storage space under the front hood. Unfortunately, those who buy the modelcars can not take a look inside because the doors and hoods of the miniatures are not intended to be opened. But a look through the side windows reveals at least perfectly executed replicas of the dashboard, the seating and the interior trim. What we like is that the modelcars also replicate the structure of the roof of the RS e-tron GT according to the prototype. The miniatures are equipped with steerable front wheels and can be had under item number 5012120051. So if you want to enter the age of electromobility in the showcase as powerful as it is sporty, you have two perfect options with the RS e-tron GT 2021 and the Porsche Taycan.
