Mid-season of the DTM. The fourth of eight race weekends took place at the Nürburgring. The Eifel welcomed the participants and spectators at the beginning of August with autumnal weather conditions and, especially on Sunday, heavy rain. But the DTM and its supporting series didn't let this stop them and showed spectacular motorsport on the traditional track in the Eifel.

There has been a cooperation between ck-modelcars and the KÜS Team Bernhard for many years. On the two Porsche 911 GT3 R driven by Ayhancan Güven and Laurin Heinrich, the ck logo is emblazoned on the front of the vehicles and in the industrial strip on the sills. The racing team of long-distance legend Timo Bernhard was to experience a real rollercoaster of emotions at the home game at the Nürburgring.

In the Sunday race, reigning Porsche Carrera Cup champion Laurin Heinrich clinched the team's first podium result of the 2023 season. In the rain battle, the 21-year-old from Kürnach, Germany fought his way up from eleventh on the grid to second. The official Porsche contract driver is on the podium for the first time in the DTM.

Saturday was more difficult for the team from Bruchmühlbach-Miesau. Ayhancan Güven was involved in a serious accident. Brand colleague Christian Engelhart lost control of his 911 GT3 R when it started to rain and hit Güven, with whom he finished runner-up in the 2022 ADAC GT Masters. Both survived the accident uninjured, but the vehicles were so badly damaged that both drivers were no longer able to drive on Sunday. Heinrich used the wrong tires when it started to rain and only finished the race in 19th position.

In the ADAC GT4 Germany, Bernhard junior driver Daniel Gregor started together with Finn Zulauf for AVIA W&S Motorsport. The Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport of the two young talents also bears the logo of the model vehicle dealer. Gregor, who competes in the Porsche Sports Cup Germany together with Christoph Krombach, also wears the logo on his overalls. On Sunday, the two youngsters made it onto the podium and finished the race in second place. Gregor in particular showed a strong performance in the second half of the race and moved up several positions. On Saturday, the two drivers scored further important points in twelfth place. In the overall standings of the strong GT4 racing series, the two drivers moved up to sixth position.

Only a few days before the event at the Nürburgring, Sorg Rennsport was given the go-ahead for the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany. The racing team from Wuppertal, Germany started in the traditional brand cup for the first time. Felix Hirsiger from Switzerland drove the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, which wore several ck modelcars logos all around. Hirsiger and the entire Sorg squad made a strong debut in the one-make cup, in which 32 identical Porsches are starting. The former DTM Trophy driver finished both races in 16th place.
